The following comes from the Roofing Contractors Association of Southern California, Inc.
There are numerous documented cases in which unlicensed roofers have taken advantage of consumers. One of the most common cases is when the roofer cannot be located after a problem has developed with the roofing job. If there is a problem with a roof applied by a licensed contractor, you have more than a telephone number to fall back on. You have the assurance that he has met the qualifications required by the State of California.
The State of California has rigid standards for professional roofing contractors. Only those who meet these standards qualify for a state license. Their licenses are YOUR best protection. Should you have a legitimate dispute with a Licensed Roofing Contractor, you do have the recourse of filing a complaint with the Contractors State License Board.
Licensed Roofing Contractors are also required to post a bond. In some cases, you may be able to file a claim against that bond. Contact the Contractors State License Board for additional information concerning Contractor’s Bonds.
Total Roofing, Inc. is fully licensed with the State of California. Read more why you should choose Total Roofing for your next roofing job.
